今日は、私たちの先生、レフア・カワイカプオカラニ・ヒューエットが、エリサと彼女のハウマナたちと一緒にレッスンをするために来日しています。ウリウリをはじめとするハワイの道具が最近とても高価になっていることが分かりました。そのため、私たちはより丁寧に（マラマ）扱わなければならず、修理も必要になります。私自身、ウリウリ、イプ、パフをたくさん修理してきました。自分の道具の修理やメンテナンスの仕方を知ることは、フラの重要なスキルだと思います。このスキルを学びたい方は、ぜひメッセージをお送りください。お教えします。

Today our teacher Lehua Kawaikapuokalani Hewett is in town to do a class with Erisa and her haumana. We’ve found out that Uliuli as other Hawaiian implements are getting very expensive, which means we all have to take care of them more carefully (Malama); and/or we have to have them fixed. Personally I’ve repaired a lot of Uliuli, Ipu and pahu. I think knowing how to do repairs and maintenance on your own implements is an important hula skill.
